A representation has been forwarded from Captain Dunbar, Commanding Detachment of the 98th Regiment, at present quartered in the new Barracks near the Commissariat Stoves, pointing out the danger to which his men are exposed owing to there not being a parapet to the bridge which crosses the brook in that neighbourhood.
I am of opinion that it would be useless Expense to build a stone parapet upon the present bridge, I am directed by His Excellency the Governor in Council to request you to have a strong wooden railing put up as soon as you conveniently can, the cost of which is to be included in your Abstract for the Contingent expences of the coming month.
